Although the ST website says that they are a current design, none of the usual distributors seem to have them. Farnell appears to have removed them from it's stock list, and RS only have then in reels of 400.

The second one, although cheap for a breakout board, is more per chip than the first one. Also I don't want to have to remove the chips from the boards.
You get some strange answers. https://www.findchips.com/search/lis3dh Farnell says no longer manufactured. Digikey says you can order 1 with no sock. Mouser says factory delays up to 9 weeks.
Arrow/Verical lists 28000 of them, in 4000-unit reels - this appears to be the only distributor with stock. You might call Arrow and see if they'd be willing to break up a real.
