LED Shift Light For Car?

Hey,

I need a wireing diagram that will enable me to have an LED on the dashboard to light up at a set RPM. A sorce for measuring the RPM would be from a spark plug, evey revolution it sends an impulse that can then be terned into a value that can be used to light up an LED.

If you have any ideas at all please post them!

Do a google search on lm2917 or lm2907 datasheets. Just about the whole schematic for a shift light is inside the datasheet.
