LED reflector alternatives

Hi all, I was looking to get some of these...https://uk.rs-online.com/web/search...e&storedtfgList=&searchTerm=6542897&x=24&y=14

but sadly they are not stocked anymore

I want some for using with RC car shells and these would have been just about the right size. Is there anything else out there?

These are cheap plastic ones but look like they would work much better for your application than a metallic reflector, the plastic will glow so the headlights will look VERY bright, obviously it won't project light as well as a metallic reflector would but if you're actually trying to use this for external lighting on an RC car to drive it something is obviously wrong, it's for flash and appearance not actual light projection.

A simple Google search will net you dozens of links.
You could probably home brew your own diffuse reflectors like this out of cheap plastic.

thanks Sceadwian, they look like the would do the job nicely! I'm going to contact them and see what they say about shipping to the UK.

I wanted some with a metallic look to mimic the look of a full size headlight but thinking about it, I might not be the best idea.

They look good unlighted, but not lit, they just reflect the light out and it gets lost in front of the car, especially at night. You could think about using a matt silver paint, will look silver like a car reflector (on an RC scale at least) during the day but will still be generally be a diffuse reflector to give the headlight units themselves some good glow.

Don't give in to the dark sides, not everything cool looking on a car needs to be chromed

OSRAM LED reflectors are available at https://www.reichelt.de

Underneath "Schnellsuche" type in "REFLEKTOR 3MM" for 3mm LEDs and "REFLEKTOR 5MM" for 5mm LEDs.

3mm reflectors are 27C and 5mm reflectors are 39C (EURO-based, currency: 1€ ~ US$ 1.40). These prices include 19% sales tax. Deliveries overseas are sales tax exempt.

Not sure if the UK is considered overseas but it's across the English channel anyway.
