Hi There,

I would really appreciate some advice with a project I am trying to complete. Basically I am constructing a mock display panel 15feet long consisting of both flashing and permanently lit leds. I bought a Versatile Pic Flasher project 3169 from Quasar Electrics (www.quasarelectronics.com/3169.htm) and have sourced a number of various leds to accompany this. This is where the advice would really be appreciated. Although I am fairly competent at soldering, I need help calculating the power supply and then choosing that power supply as well as any resistors needed. A quick confirmation of the wiring method would be great too. There will be about 69 equally spread across the 8 outputs in no particular order or grouping.

For the permanently lit leds, there are 79 of these of various specs which also need a power source to be worked out and supplied.

All this will be indoors and powered via 230V mains.

As for the specs of the Leds - I have listed these below with all relevant details (I Hope!)

Really hope someone can help!

Many thanks in advance,

We need the Forward Current (IF) for these leds as well.

... You do realise how much soldering you're going to have to do

Absolutely! I thought at first that this was a spam but then I re-read the original post and realized it was legit.

This is impressive indeed.

Thanks for the replies,

Managed to wing it through in the end! Man did I solder a lot?!?

I did initially contact Quasar but was pointed to generic info pages of "if you want to wire an LED do it this way....", and "If you have 10, wire them this way...."
It was a bit generic really as I could not find anyone that had done a similar project and explained the workings. What I was after was the personal coach to help......
But alas I learned in the end (with a few solder burns and burn-outs along the way) and am left with a really nice finsh.
Thanks again
:)
