Hi,

Im looking to buy this LCD:
https://www.electro-tech-online.com/custompdfs/2010/05/DE-LM005.pdf

It says it has 16pins. However, I have two questions. Firstly, can someone explain in more details what these do:

- Register select
- Read / Write
- Enable signal
- Data bus

Secondly, are all the DataBus's necessary (I have seen people dont normally wire up all the pins, yet it still seems to work perfectly)?

Thank you for any help you can give.

- Register select Selects Write Characters or Commands
- Read / Write Select Read or Write to LCD controller
- Enable signal Strobes in the current Char or Command

Hi,
It can be wired for either 4 or 8 data/command lines, uses top 4 bits for 4 wire.

OK.?
