What am I doing wrong?

I enter this:

[tex]I=I_f[/tex]

And expect to get Latex script.

EDIT: Hmmm... I tried it on the AAC forum, and it worked. Has Latex been disabled here?

afaik it does work here but not over here

Maybe you can sort it out if you click reply on both working latex threads and on one that doesn't work, if there is any difference that causes one to work and th other one to fail.

OK, let's try something slightly different:
[latex]I=I_f[/latex]

[latex]I=I_f[/latex]

ETO uses the form shown in the code box above.
AAC uses [tex]I=I_f[/tex]
I suppose this is explained somewhere here on the forum.
