keyboard's scan code to ASCII

hi,

any one know how to convert from a keyboard's scan code to an ASCII characters??like a formulas or somthing??? for now i m using a look-up table which is a long process...any hint or anything is welcome

Using a look-up table is the best way, it's also by far the fastest. Using a formula would require the keys to be connected in a specific way, which would complicate construction.
