i am wanting a 7107 to build a digital display on microchip they have samples of
TC7107CPL in a PDIP 600mil package

wot do the extra letters "CPL" stand for ...and is the PDIP the right type which "slot" into DIL sockets?

Kane

7107cpl

I am not sure what the individual letters mean, but collectively they mean 40 pin plastic DIP 0 degee's to + 70 degrees C. It will fit in a 40 pin
dip socket with 0.6" spacing.

hmmm
is normal veraboard/stripboard 0.1"?
so how would i go about doing this..or will i have to make a pcb

Yes, PDIP is the right type. 40pins with 2.54mm (0.1") distance. CERDIP also useable, but the pinout mirrored. CPL after the type-number just the temperature.
