I have a IR Receiver and a TV Remote, and what i want to do is press the TV remote, and on the output of the receiver i want the led to flash!!!SIMPLE!!!

the receiver has three pins, looking at the lens [1]Output [2]Ground [3]5V

on the output im getting a positive reading of approx 5V and when i press the tv remote it drops a little?

how can i get this thing to work?

Recheck your wiring. There should be output only when the receiver is activated by an IR signal.

i worked it out,i had the led connected in series to from output to 0V instead of +V.

Yes, it's a sink connection, not a source one.

Assuming you're trying to make an IR remote tester, you might check mine out?.
