Hello, I have a ionizer that uses a step up controller for ion generation.

There is a main board with all controls and then the high voltage step up controller connected by 2 wires, red and black. I did not measure the voltage but it seems it's dc.

Can I add simple potentiometer to control the voltage?

Here are some shots from how it's made. There already is a small pot on the hi voltage controller. Anyone can decipher what it is looks like 205 ohms, kohms ?

Meanwhile I have ordered connectors so I do not have to cut any original wiring. I'll measure voltage and current what I get the connectors (that will take about a week)
