Inverting and non inverting amplifiers

Can somebody explain to me the difference and pros and cons of an inverting and non inverting amplifier? Also examples of when these circuts should be used. Thanks EOJ
 
Are you asking about OpAmps? Sometimes you want the signal to be inverted, some times you don't.

All other things being equal, Inverting OpAmps usually have lower input impedance than Non-inverting.
