inside a remote (buttons)

Hey, what is that black stuff on the back of the button (that contacts with the circuit board) to close the button circuit, its on almost every remote?

more importantly, its worn off, what can i use to fix/replace it?
 
"conductive elastomer" is rubber with a lot of carbon (which is conductive) in it
