How do you get magentic wire to stick to the core of an inductor???

Why? What kind of core are you using. Are you trying to create an electo-magnet?

A long time ago I used to us a special glue called Q dope to glue the magnet wire to a core. Now I start the winding and use a small piece of masking tape.

I use Elmer's glue. You can pull it loose if you need to and will not effect coil when dry.
