In voltage multiplier circuits...

How much current do you need? When you stack caps in series to get a higher voltage you are also seriesing their reactance. Take the maximum impedance you can tolerate, divide it by the number of capacitors needed to achieve the desired voltage multiplication, then calculate the minimum size required for the frequency of the feed power source. You select the next larger standard size.
 
Simulate it. Vary the capacitance values as a function of desired load current and evaluate the ripple.
