Your getting 250uA and 2.5 volts?
What type of battery?
If you are talking 300uA then I don't see a need to limit current or voltage. (Assuming NICAD AA)

No battery was connected, I simply connect the 10K resistor with the solar panel and mesured the voltage.
 
If you send 1/2 as much light then you will get 20k ohms. (1/2 the current and slightly less voltage)
Usually I think amps, volts, power. I have never thought about ohms.
