Ideas for a pole pig transformer

I've got my hands on an old pole pig type transformer. It has no markings other than the ge logo. and 30kV to 125 volts AC stamped on the side. I've also built my own vacuum manifold for a neon tube making station. Could I use the 'pole pig' as a bombarder transformer if I hooked it up to 120 volt mains? (with a current limiter choke/s I suppose too?)
