ide laptop hard drives

hi
does anyone know any good links or have any info on the different types of 2.5" IDE laptop hard drives, and the ide cable to go with??

( BACKGROUND:i thought i could use a 3.5" ide hard drive with an mp3 project, but i need a really out dated 2.5" drive,and associated 44 0r 40 pin ide cable , as i belive the drive can draw power then through IDE cable )
