Ic used for driving a stepper motor

I need to drive a stepper motor.
so can anyone please give the ic number
 
What type of stepper motor is it? Bipolar, Unipolar?

You need not necessarily have to use an ic to drive it, it can be done with discrete components...

However to answer your question, an L293
 
A TIP34C makes a pretty versatile coil driver
