im new here and this is my 1st post.
i just want to make a project or assemble a circuit that can classify or group things according to colors. i think my major problem is what are the components ill be using in contructing a circuit that can identify colors? or is there any sensor that i can use?

how about light sensors with colour filters in front of them ...

I suspect that colored LEDs will be sensitive to the color that it emits. I have not seen any data about that, but it would be worth investigating.
