I don't know what is considerred 2nd year at your uni, but the best books that I know of are "Electronics for the Evil Genuis". It is a series with ranging levels of difficulty. One of our members "Evil_Genuis" has had his materials published in that series. Go to a book store in your area, and you will find something.
