Boncuk New Member May 23, 2010 #2 Are you sure you are using a 4017? Usually a 4017 has only one clock input, a clock inhibit input and a reset input. The 4017 will advance count with each amplifier output signal strong enough to clock the chip, hence it won't be a an audio level indicator. I suggest to take a look at the LM3915, a logarithmic version of the LM3914. Boncuk
