Just a small heating element that i can mount on a heatsink to heat a small enclosure. Needs to be around 50w and can be either 230Vac or 12Vdc. Thanks

I was thinkin of something in the shape on transistors is there a way of putting false load on a very ineffecient transistor or semiconductor

Maybe a power resistor? Arcol

Or if you insist on a transistor, see attached cct. heater.gifQ1 is the heating element. If the temperature of Q3 changes, so will the power consumption. You could alternately replace Q1 (and omit Q2) with a mosfet.
