Strictly food related.

Nothing else. OK. If you ate a Mango that is OK. Never share a Mango though. Mango's are strictly personal. It's a fruit that does not do the sharing thing well.

Anyway, most Forums are dead tonight. And what is out there is boring....

And I will not travel tonight. I remember well what happened last time. Got...got a Virus../little bit of Malware..lot's of Drama. Xp re-install and all.
And I swear no Porn Sites. I happened to pick a few bad places along the way. What a journey.

Anyway, I was going off topic.

Tonight....nice barbecued chicken wings (lots), fresh bread rolls, fresh butter and not a threat in sight.

I am blessed,

Now all I have to do is eat :p

Love you all,
tvtech

LOL John.

Way more "tongue in cheek" than that. But you know where I am coming from....
I love spinning stuff that few understand. I confuse many but very few understand where I am coming from :)

Except the few that know :)

Good to see you active and participating and enjoying ETO.

It's like I will always be a naughty shite...that's my nature. So good that you are here again.

Missed you and your little "goat" and all .....Avatar...

Aw well, probably an illusion. I should have eaten Hours ago.

Eating now with speed. Hungry and all.

See you all Tomorrow.

Regards,
tvtech

So far, just a homemade bagel. Filled up on Ben & Jerrys ice cream this afternoon though :p

Anyway, I tried to edit my post above and all.

Not necessary. I have friends here that take care of me. They consist of Moderators, Members, and just all round good people..
People say the World is a huge place. Yes it is.
People say the Internet is a huge place. Yes it is.
People say you have to speak to reach out to people/strangers you don't know...

Many people have bad experiences on the Internet.

I have yet to have one. Ziltch. Buggerall. Nada.

So much good out there....you just have to find it. And when you do....treasure it...

Rambling on as an ETO Member since 2010...nothing but good here. I have seen people come and go. I have seen changes. I even asked to be Banned because I was cross because a decision was made.

And so on and so on. Sitting here and thinking....

Personally, I believe that there are very few places out there that could possibly acquire the unique character type of Membership/People we have here..

Talk about ups and downs....ETO has seen it all. Just food for thought while I am trying to figure out why ETO is the one place on NET that in spite of stuff....makes outsiders maybe so welcome???

Lot's of incredibly smart people at ETO....Could be Members there never brag or try to outsmart each other.....maybe they respect each others stuff...
Maybe Technical respect is the key....Maybe just a gathering of people that know their ****......

And because they know their **** they never feel the urge to brag.

Weird.....but it works.

No other Electronic Forum out there can quite match it.

Food for thought,
tvtech

Tvtech could I ask a personal question? Are you related to a member of AAC named "Loosewire"?

The two of you have many similarities. :) Both are/have worked in tv repairs. Both have a 'cryptic' way of posting. Both post mostly "off topic" posts. And there are many more similarities I won't mention.

I mean absolutely no offense by asking this.

I think I asked Loosewire the same thing about ETO/Tvtech :D

tv, you and Loosie would get along great :p

LOL....:wideyed:. Heck no. Loosie as far as I know when I used to visit AAC lives in or near Miami.
I am here in South Africa.

As far as similarities go....well TV repairs can drive you a little bit nuts (speaking for myself only). But a good nuts.

@ Matt suggesting Loosie and I would get along great....could you possibly imagine the chaos we would/could cause in a Pub somewhere....

Nobody but nobody there would understand what we are on about if involved in a discussion :woot:

Anyway, Loosie is at AAC, and I am here at ETO. And I dig ETO.
And Loosie digs AAC.

We are not the same person :)

Love you Guys,

I would honestly pay to see that ;) You two should be on a talk show together sometime....

We are not the same person :)

Nobody asked if you were the same person, just if you were related :p

^^^ Matt..

LOL. Don't do this to me. As far as I know....I am not related to Loosie in any way.

I have no relations that I have not met in my lifetime.....
I definitely have no connections/links/family in the USA.

......except my one Aunt that went to America around 1990. Never saw her again.

deleted because the comment was not congruent

LOL Joe...saw your original post where you said I should not comment about never been nada. zilch...on the Net...

What you said was true....thing is People have never bitten me. Because I don't bite people.
I am what you see and read here. Nothing else. No pretentious stuff from me. Sure I maybe irritate some here...heck I am not perfect.

But I try really hard to keep things light and "funny" and interesting for people visiting here. Most of the regulars here know that.
Some enjoy my antics....and some dismiss them...

Saddest thing for me...they are all true. I live in South Africa. I am a tvtech. And I deal with the stuff daily that I speak about.

And I am a very frustrated White Guy.....we are into 20 yes twenty Years of democracy here....and there is not a single Black TV repair shop anywhere here.

If something goes wrong....the tv's come here. I have to continiously serve Black people my whole life long.....nah.

WHERE ARE THEIR OWN TECHNICIANS???? Sorry for shouting.

But where are they???

I was up and running within 3 Months of being given a little training 25 Years or so ago. I was interested. I wanted to learn...

You see Guys where I am coming from.

That is why my mind flips.

I cannot carry these people anymore. Enough is enough. It's not about the Money...it's about attitude and stuff.

Today was a great day. I dined on a fried baloney sandwich. Every now and then I like to revert to my formative years. Growing up in New York City during the 1950s we were not quite wealthy and my mother made great use of common staples. Heck, I always thought a lettuce and tomato sandwich was great, I only later discovered bacon could be added. I have also graduated to the higher cost all beef baloney. I also still enjoy a good PB&J every now and then. Besides we have a Clambake on tap for tomorrow so I'll eat well. Since the clams are dead I call it a Clamwake. :)

The two lines I extracted from your statement to begin my deleted comments was cherry picking your comments to illustrate a hypocrisy because of your recent computer rebuild.

Now, onward.

There might not be any black tv repair people because there were none interested. Maybe if a white tv repair person had a black friend who they could interest in the business, there could be an apprentice in one's future.

Been there and have repeatedly tried it over the last few years. No go.

Too much lazyness and social grant allowances here. And affiliation to the ruling party.

It's like nobody want's to work and achieve anything here. The ruling party will take care of them

Hence my frustration. If I get lucky (lotto maybe)... leave and the shop closes down then they have to sort themselves out. And maybe realize that they now have to find honest, dependable people of their own kind to fix their stuff....ain't going to happen.

Another fail for them. As usual.

They may as well take their broken TV's and chuck them in the sea....

Thanks Joe :)

Putting the socio-political problems of the Republic of South Africa to one side for a minute, and getting back onto the topic of food...

I deciced to have fish and chips for my lunch today, from the local fish and chip shop.
Very tasty, maybe not the very best fish and chips I have had, but nice enough.
The fish in question was haddock, never seem to have my favourite cod locally, although I am sure they land loads of it in the port at Peterhead.
And the chips? Well I guess the potatos just came out of the ground somewhere.

I like real cod myself. In the US, it is hard or expensive to get. I am talking about the fish that was frequently sold as salted and dried from wooden crates in Italian markets. Today, what is sold in restaurants is often called "scrod," which is cod, haddock, or any other white fish that can be disguised. Given the general avarice of the dealers, I suspect salted sea bass gets included all too often.

Ah yes, Baccalà. You don't grow up Italian in NYC and not love Baccalà. :) Prep takes considerable time and effort but good Baccalà is delicious. My brother makes a Baccalà stew to die for.

Great Cod and fish and chips takes me back to New England and more specific New Bedford, Mass. That was where my father grew up and during the 50s the sum of $0.35 for fish and $0.35 for chips got an unbelievable meal with malt vinegar wrapped in newspaper. Incredible! John, yes, the price of good cod today is unbelievable!

LOL..this is a thread I created.

I keep going Off Topic with it...and John and Jim and Ron keep it on track. Thanks Guys :). You are Legends in my book:cool:
