How to make a beam of laser diode (from DVD-RW) focussing?

Dear all,

I'll try to build a laser burner from laser diode that i got from dvd-rw drive.
The people that i saw on youtube can made a focus one.

What kind of flashlights should i use to make it?
Or do u have any suggestion?

I need it for my experiments.

if i have laser from dvd-rw drive then what laser housing that should i use? (in mm)

12mm laser housing w/lens/5.6mm diode housing, my diode was from a blu-ray drive


you will need the whole housing kit, plus you may need a driver to run it too.

i blew my laser diode this morning, gave too much voltage i think.
