How to invert symbols on HD44780?

Hello!,

I want to emphasize a segment of text on LCD, so I'm trying to find a option how to invert on HD44780, like there is on T6963C.
I want to invert for example from 0x00 to 0x05, but rest must stay normal, I could write this 'fixed' values to CGRAM, but this is no long time solution, or is it?

The only way to do this is to copy the relevant characters to the user area and invert them. This would limit you to 8 inverted characters.
