How to face a vacation?

I've never taken a vacation my entire life.

Never felt I needed one.

a month ago I decided that I'm gonna take my first vacation, solo, and have a month of backpacking in South Asia -
North Vietnam and South China.

I decided to go for it not because I really felt like taking a vacation, but because i'm already at my 2nd half of my twenties and I don't know where I'll get a better opportunity to experience a real backpacking trip.

Now that I'm 2 weeks away, all these thoughts start to hunt me:

- What if someone at work will take over my project that I've just started off with?

- How is my 1 month absence gonna affect my rank at work?

- Will it be really worth it?

I've never dealt with it before and I'm starting to get scared instead of having great anticipation towards the vacation.

I'd appreciate your comments.

Thanks a lot.

To quote a great man (Eric Gibbs), see here.

IMHO you are intent on making it a negative experience, so it will most likely turn out that way!!

His words have once again proven to be full of foresight.

Yeah, I think complaining about vacationing deserves a little friendly fun poking him in the ribs. :)

electroRF, just enjoy and let them struggle without you while you're gone!

This is more likely what will happen.
