how to drive a ST7735R LCD with a PIC ?

I purchased the TFT LCD display with microSD card breakout - ST7735R from adafruit.com and was curious if anyone has driven this display with a PIC rather than an Arduino. I'm interested in drawing some simple shapes, and possibly moving an image from an SD card using the SPI port.

Any C/C++ or Assembly snippets would be great.

Just modify aka PORT over the Arduino code... thats what i do
