How to control a demultiplexer

Hi all,

I checked with the chips and I'm afraid the reason is I destroyed the chips, therefore the Z pin was always switching to the 0000 channel...But the thing is how could this happen.

What voltage levels were you switching thru the 4067.?

Whats your location.?

EDIT:

I see that you are using the 4067 as an expander ie: 1 to 16.

If the outputs of the 4067 are 'floating' and you touch them, you could have blown the analog gate open at that time..
