How to bring stored GPS data to mapping software?

Can someone clue me on in how to get stored GPS data to a mapping software so that I can see the path of travel?

When you store info, how do you import it into mapping software without actually plugging each coordinate in individually?

Coordinates (geocodes) can be stored as KML format and accepted by many mapping software such as Google Earth, see this KML Documentation Introduction - KML - Google Code
