Hey guys,
I'm very familiar with using bench power supplies and breadboards to prototype regular analog circuits. But I'm wondering, what do people do to typically prototype vacuum tube circuits? Say 20W amplifiers and oscillators, etc?

Do you just take a chassis and punch holes for all the tubes you may need, attach an appropriate power transformer and go from there? Or is there tools that make life a little easier, like the breadboard for example?

I have a friend who did tube stuff and he usually reused the power supplies and connected them with a tube socket plug. The standard construction was terminal strips, or terminal boards and the chassis punch. You should be able to get away with a couple of step drill bits too.

From lmgify.com: you have: https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-vacuum-tube-breadboarding-sockets/

but I've seen them made with these: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fahnestock_clip
