A saw some interesting pictures on some high voltage websites:

also a youtube movie:

Those pictures called Lichtenberg Figures. They can be made by discharge a very high voltage into a acryl block of plastic (the block of acryl will function as a big capacitor). There is less usefull info about creating those figures. On some site you can read that the high voltage is made by a DC accelerator.

Now is my question, are there some people who knows some more about creating those figures at home?

is it an option to make a 10kV DC power supply and discharge this into the block ?

In my opinion those figures look great! :D

lichtenberg figures are also called "electron trees".

you load the arcryl block like a capacitor with a very high voltage and after that, discharge the block by smashing it with a sharp point (which is connected to the ground)
