high power switch circuit diagram

i need a on circuit whos work only ON and OFF for 220 v AC.


just apply a 5 v DC.

i want to control the 220 v AC by a 5 v DC.
if 5 v dc is applied the 220 is ON and if we remove the 5 v dc than 220 is OFF.

A relay is the simplest! But which one? What are you switching on and off...lights?...motors?....??? How much current in switched in the 220VAC circuit? How current much can the 5VDC circuit supply?
Details...details...details! They may point to other methods of switching.
