hi guys im new and need help with relays

im trying to build a simple relay bourd that basicly has 8 led's and a push button
and every push turnes on the next led in sequence and only 1 led on at any time,
so you push the button and the led light moves to the next and when gets to the end restarts the sequence,
and i only want to use relays and basic newby components

any help will be very very apreciated

That is not a simple problem. The first thing to do is write a logic equation that describes what you want to do. Implementing the equation will be relativly simple.

CD4017 with a transistor driving each relay and a reset at 8.

Here is a relay counter that can be extended to as many LEDs as you wish.

For 8 LEDs you can either just provide 8 relays or if you want to reduce the number of relays, it can be done with 5 by making N1 ~ 4 cycle twice.
