Recently I have unscrew my old printer and saw there was a stepper motor inside. The stepper information is:-
Mitsumi motor
QH4-4112
7 ohm
M42SP-7

Actually I plan to use this motor but I do not have its data sheet. Do you have this stepper motor data sheet? Thank you first for your kind help.

for some generic info, here is how it is likely wired:

The Mitsumi data sheet has no pinout, but the rest of the info is here:

I have never made a Steper Motor controler.
I did a search and found some great info for you though.
I just did a search with these words "stepper motor driver" and came up with thousands of hits so then I went to pictures and here are a few I came up with.

stepper motor driver

The blanked out words are. "electronic - circuits - diagrams"

Information requirement

Hi all !
I did the same as microzone : unscrewed my old Apple StyleWriter 2400 printer and found 2 mitsumi M42SP-7 stepper motors.
Now I'd like to control them but I have one problem (I precise I am new to stepper motors controlling) :
On the link posted by zevon8 : **broken link removed**, it is written that the excitation method of this motor is unipolar driving.
However, only 4 wires come out from the motor PCB and I read everywhere on the web that 4-wired stepper motors were bipolar motors.
Moreover, among the 4 wires, 3 have the same color.
My question is : is my motor a unipolar or bipolar motor and how to distinguish the different phases since 3 wires have the same color ?
Thanks a lot for your help !!!
Maf.
