Help to identify a component

The components are in a CDI unit. Pls. refer to the white bead-like component. I assume it's some sort of volatge clamp. It is connected across the high end of the discharge cap and the ground. I would say that's a GDT, however I know only cylindrical GDTs.

Looks like a diode.

Yeah you are right it's: a diode i.e. BYV26E with very fast recovery time. Thx again for the right hint.
