I'm using a LM2017N IC. I'm putting in a square wave of a magnitude of no greater than 10 v and a frequency of 1 - 10 kHz. I'm a bit unsure of how to connect the pins on this IC, and the data sheet isn't much use.
Anyone got any ideas? Would another IC be better?

Cheers

It would really help if you posted the correct part number. Do you mean LM2917? If so, do you have the 8 pin or the 14 pin version?

Hi,
The LM2907 or LM2917 makes a perfect tachometer or RPM sensor for cars. Many people here have used them but their various options are confusing.
Are you making a tachometer or RPM switch?
Do you have breaker points or variable reluctance to trigger the spark?
