Help on Making a interactive led panel.

Hi guys so i need some start-up ( im a amateur) to make my own interactive led panel, i was wondering are there any schematics i can follow( i searched but didn't find any), I want to make one about the size of a netbook, also perhaps you can list some of the crucial items i need, besides the basic ones..Thanks guys

How big is the matrix? How do you want to interact with it?

its roughly small perhaps like 15X15in

How many LEDs? What sort of microcontroller are you going to use? How are you going to make it interactive?

There are some designs where the LEDs are used as sensors... I think Hack-A-Day had something like that a while back.
