OK, so I'm going to use two walkie-talkies, one for tx and one for rx. The rx one will communicate to an Arduino to operate a relay for a remote-kill for my electric go kart I built. The walkie talkies I have use a call function which automatically shuts off. Since I only need a sent and received signal, and wave form isn't important, would it make sense to just use a resistor from positive power to positive mic to get a constant voltage, then just install some sort of latching switch for the Push To Talk button? Or is there a simple way with a few electronics to mimic some sort of buzzing or beeping or something to send?

General concept is this: Remote Kill Switch w/ walkie talkies
