Hello All,
I just got an assignment from one of my professors. I was asked to write a program that will enable data to be sent from a mobile phone to a computer and vice versa using a serial and/or parallel port.
I know a few programming languages but I have no experience with hardware programming.
I know I can get help fron the forum.
PLEASE HELP

For a start you need to know which specific phone is to be used, and then if that phone will actually do it! - Nokia phones are usually the most popular for this.

You then need to make (or buy) a suitable connecting lead, probably buy?, as you won't be able to get the plugs - again, Nokia is a popular choice.

Then you need to reverse engineer the protocols used between the phone and computer - yet again Nokia is a good choice, as you can find plenty of information with a quick google!.

EDIT: I just did a quick google, have a look at https://www.gnokii.org/faq.shtml and https://www.panuworld.net/nuukiaworld/ for a couple of useful sites!.
