Has anyone ever used the TEA5500? I just need a quick wireless signal (non coded)

I just need to send a signal to a receiver 30 feet away. I was surfing for IC's and came across the TEA5500, I wanna keep everything super simple and this looks super simple. Its just going to ring so my pop can hear it and theres no way to get a wire over that part of the house. Thanks in advance, Jim

Why not just buy a cheap wireless doorbell, and strip the radio parts out?.
