Hey I have been using a Sunpak Auto 101 for some high speed photography. I opened it up, and in the process of discharging the 350V capacitor i fried one of the diodes. It is now a burnt grayish color with one reddish and one gold band. Is there a way to identify what it used to be?

when a component is burnt beyond recognition than your only options are to have a second devise so you can check what it should be, or a schematic, or try out in a guesing game what it might have been
