Hi All,

I am looking for a very small inexpensive frequency meter or timer that just by laying it next to a oscillating coil will tell me what frequency the coil is oscillating at.

Is such a device made and if so who makes it? Does anyone have such a device for sale?

hi,
A simple wire loop laid near the main loop would pick up enough signal to be visible on an oscilloscope. You could measure the period/frequency of the waveform.

Do you have access to a scope.?

Look here:
Googled for Low Frequency Meter, lots of hits.
