My practice amp, A 15w Fender Frontman, crackles and scratches at very low volume. It cuts out and fades in and out. Once I increase the volume it does fine. Any ideas?
oxidized volome control..... spray some De-Oxit inside your controls rotate the shafts rapidly. if that amp uses Molex connectors to connect controls, input jacks and such to the main circuit board, you can unplug a molex plug, put a drop of De-Oxit on top of each pin, then reseat the plug. do this one plug at a time, as a whole bunch of molex connectors that look alike can be confusing.
