Female to Female Socket for Jumper Cables

I've been doing some searching and I can't seem to find simple female to female connectors so I can hook up the touch screen (32pins 2x16) I just got. I would like to avoid using ribbon cables if possible since the connections always get confusing to me. I rather take it directly from the touch screen PCB and onto the bread board to ensure I have everything right and for quicker troubleshooting.

Basically, I am taking about something like this:

Except I am just interested in the connector, so I can use my own jumper cables that I strip myself. So, does something like the end connector found on that jumper cable exist? If so, what is the exact name of this connector so I can get it on digikey if possible. Thank you so much for your time and I look forward to hearing from you guys.

Side note: I'm going to be using a PIC32 in TQFP package (only package that they sell 80MHz uCs with enough pins) with a breadboard adapter. I can't wait to start my next project!

Do you want single pin connectors like those or multi pin? They are called Rectangular Header Housings on Digikey. You need to buy the plastic housing and the metal insert that you crimp onto the wire is separate. Unless you have the crimping tool, using plyers to crimp these can be a pain and it's slow work. I have loads of these, but I only use them when necessary because it's work to put them together. What I usually use just when prototyping is getting the thru hole female headers and just soldering wires to the pins.

Single housing, but I don't think you want to pay 80 cents each.

Thank you so much for the reply. I'm looking for either a single pin or a multi-pin solution. Paying $0.80 each for single pin solution does sound expensive (might as well get 100 cables for $20 on sparkfun), but I appreciate you taking the time to show me what they are called and linking them on digikey. The rectangular header housing (2x16) connector seems good, but can I still use hookup wire to make the connection?

So, is the rectangular header (2x16) housing the way to go with the hookup wire I linked above?

I soldered a bit before for a few projects (mainly through hole devices such as an LCD module and resistors. I am also looking into SMD soldering for the TQFP uC I broght), but I always have trouble when it's wire to pin, which is why I would like to avoid that. However, it seems like this maybe the best and cheapest way to go. Do you have any suggestions for soldering from wire to pin like that (especially since there are so many pins close together)? What has been the most effective way in your experience?

EDIT:
It seems a "header housing with inserts" is what I may be looking for. I'm not sure how to narrow down the search to get that on digikey. Would you be able to link it?

These guys stock a really good range of housings, pre-crimped ready-made wires of many lengths(second link), and a crimp tool if you want to make your own.

Using the pre-crimped wires makes it really easy to make custom cables in just seconds. Just snap the pins/sockets into the housings in whatever arrangement you choose.

And a really neat end product.

Not the cheapest option, but definitely the easiest and the most elegant.
