Hi

I have deliberately designed an SMPS module test board with the wrong input filter, will it be OK?.....

Make sure that you account for the impact of DC bias on the capacitors value. It can be significant.

For instance, here are the characteristics for a 1uF, 100V X7R ceramic in a 1206 package. You can see that at 40 Volts, the capacitance has dropped by 40%. If you're operating it at elevated temperature, you can loose another 10% to 15%.
