Are you building something that specifies these devices? How old is the design? Is it possible for you to post a schematic (or partial) so we can guess their function?
Or, are you repairing some vintage equipment? In this case it would be extremely useful if you post photos of the parts, tell us what the equipment does or is supposed to do, and how old it is.
