Hi,

Yes if the capacitor and inductor are ideal and there was no radiated energy it would resonate forever. The main consumer is the ESR of the two devices which as you noted causes heat radiation and thus loss of energy over each cycle, and there is also RF radiation. Eventually it runs out of energy unless more energy is supplied to keep it going.
