Embedded dram vs stand alone dram

Hi folks,
Is embedded dram same as stand alone dram except that it is integrated on same die?

Yes, except it's also faster because once you go off-chip you have a limited practical number of i/o lines and wind up with bus multiplexing, and there are delays from line length and ringing.
