Electromagnets vs Neo

Can electromagnets compare in electric fields with the neo magnets if built right? Right now we are looking at building electros that have large pole side surfaces using light gauge wire with as many turns as we can fit. We are aiming for 3" x 3" pole faces.

It comes from Arnold Magnetics (**broken link removed**). If you work back to the home page, you will find a wealth of information. Using fine wire may not give you the best strength, as you need high current.

Magnetics (http://www.mag-inc.com/design) is another source, but I found Arnold easier to use.
