Does anyone have an idea how the elastomer connectors are actually connected between the LCD glass and the PCB ?
The product information on the manufacturers website says, they are zero inserstion force type and connection between the LCD and the PCB undernneath is made only by mechanical pressing of the elastomer connector.
But I have a LCD, with these connectors on 2 parallel side. One of them is stuck on the glass. The other one, has come off i.e not stuck anymore.
The problem is, after placing the LCD in the unit (there are tightening screws as well), the sements where this connector isnt stuck anymore, are not visible. The display needs to be pressed a little to see these segments.

Does anyone have an idea, if these elastomer connectors have some sort of adhesive property when they are new ? Or if anything is used to stick them to the LCD glass ?

Thanks.

There is no adhesive used on zebra connectors.
Clean the zebra and glass and board contact surfaces very well and reassemble with extreme care on pressure uniformity. The tabs have to bent with skill pressing the board down to achieve proper contact.
